One of the most important factors determining competitiveness, economic growth, wealth and standard of living of the population is labor productivity, therefore, the search for new mechanisms and tools to improve it is an urgent research task. With the development of technology and the digital transformation of business processes, the ways of motivation are also changing. Differences in the perception of information by representatives of different generations force employers to look for ways that allow them to motivate employees most effectively. This is especially important in conditions of personnel shortage and high competition for qualified personnel. The article examines various theories of generations, as well as their relationship with the stages of technological structures, and provides an analysis of studies revealing the structure of career motivation of employees of different generations. Generational values and needs are presented, and gamification tools that contribute to the growth of employee productivity are proposed, also the attitude of representatives of different generations to the introduction of robotic systems and artificial intelligence technologies is analyzed.
