STRATEGIC POSITIONING OF UNIVERSITIES IN THE AI ERA THROUGH THE PRISM OF ORGANIZATIONAL BARRIERS AND DYNAMIC CAPABILITIES OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The article explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into higher education institutions as a key factor in their strategic positioning. The study aims to identify the relationship between the university's dynamic capabilities for digital transformation and the organizational barriers arising from AI implementation. The theoretical framework is based on D. Teece’s dynamic capabilities concept and a systemic approach to organizational modernization. The primary method used is a multiple case study of Russian universities implementing digital talent development strategies. The authors propose a conceptual model of university strategic positioning that links technological drivers and organizational barriers (including academic resistance of staff). It is proven that the success of AI integration depends not so much on the IT infrastructure capacity as on the ecosystemic dynamic capabilities of management to transform internal business processes.
