The article discusses one of the problems in the rational use and protection of land resources and the special role of land valuation in the land management system. This is especially important in a modern market economy. The proposed mechanisms will allow the state and society, applying them in practice, to form zonal assessment territories, choose a scientifically based land management system, ensure the environmental sustainability of the country's territorial development and, based on the use of land rents, social justice in the lives of the people living on them.
