CONCEPTUAL MODEL OF SYMBIOTIC RESILIENCE OF A REGIONAL TOURISM CENOSIS
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The article proposes a conceptual model of symbiotic resilience for a regional tourism cenosis under conditions of digitalization and macroeconomic uncertainty. Unlike static approaches to resilience and fragmented models of sustainable tourism, the regional tourism complex is treated as an economic cenosis and a symbiotic system that includes symbiotic units, a resource matrix, functional communities, network relations and the institutional environment. Based on symbiosis theory, a five component framework “units – matrix – communities – networks – environment” is developed together with a system of indicators of symbiotic tourism resilience, diversity and scale of symbiotic units, abundance and digitalization of the matrix, community productivity, network connectivity, openness and sustainability of the environment. This configurational perspective is shown to link tourism resilience with regional economic security and to reveal structural deformations (mono dependence, fragmentation, peripheral degradation), thereby providing a basis for differentiated management decisions and subsequent empirical testing using data from Russian regions
