The article examines the features of the formation and development of domestic statehood and the factors influencing its evolution. The challenges faced by Russian civilization at different stages of its historical path are analyzed. The process of formation of spiritual and moral values that were passed down from generation to generation is revealed, becoming a solid foundation of Russian society, capable of withstanding modern challenges and threats. The preservation of traditional values is a condition for national security and strengthening of sovereignty, a condition for the continuity and stability of the further historical development of the Russian state and society.
