The article highlights that dairy farming occupies a key position in the agro-industrial complex of the Leningrad Region. The industry forms the basis of regional food produc-tion. For instance, in 2025, gross milk production reached 728 thousand tons, demon-strating growth for the fourth consecutive year. The region maintains high productivity figures: in agricultural organizations, the average milk yield per cow amounted to ap-proximately 10 thousand kg, which is one of the best results among the constituent enti-ties of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the study is to identify the key factors for the development of dairy farming in the Leningrad Region and to assess the strategic prospects of the industry based on SWOT analysis. The methodological basis of the work includes methods of statistical analysis, comparative analysis, and strategic indus-try analysis.
